Contribute + Help

Sponsor a Child:
Raising children is expensive even in Tanzania.  As the cost of living increases and the children’s expenses increase with age, the daily struggle of life becomes more apparent.  In January six more children started primary school.  This adds $1,200 to the orphanage’s expense list.  Sponsoring a child can help make a dent in daily expenses such as these.  Food, healthcare, school fees, and housing related costs are the major expenses that your contribution can subsidize.  I work directly with the orphanage and its other international supporters to manage the best way to spend the money.

Sponsors set up a monthly $25 transfer to a United States bank account.  I transfer the money directly to the orphanage’s bank account in Tanzania when it is needed most.  You will receive periodic updates from me and semi-annual updates from the children.  Contributions are not yet tax deductible, but I am in the process of researching how to achieve charitable status.  Separate contributions of any size are also welcome and appreciated.

Volunteer:

The Kao La Amani family is always open to making new friends.  If you plan to travel to northern Tanzania and would like to stop in or would like to arrange a volunteer opportunity please contact me for more information.  We share Kao La Amani’s story person to person and community to community and look forward to expanding our network of friends.
